How do I add a birthday?
Tap the pink + button on the home screen. Enter a name and pick a date. The year is optional.
How do I edit or delete a birthday?
Long press on any birthday card to see edit and delete options.
How do reminders work?
Birthdaze schedules a notification on your phone for 8 AM on the day you choose. In Settings you can be reminded 1, 3, or 7 days before each birthday, or turn reminders off. The app needs notification permission, which it asks for when you add your first birthday. If you refused, you can allow it later in your phone's settings.
Does the app need an account or internet connection?
No. Since version 2.0 there is no sign-in and no server. Everything is stored on your device and the app works fully offline.
How do I move my birthdays to a new phone?
On the old phone open Settings and choose Export. Send the file to yourself, for example by email or a messaging app. On the new phone open Settings, choose Import, and pick the file. You can also use this to share a list with someone else.
I updated from version 1.0. Where are my birthdays?
Open the app once after updating. It copies your birthdays from the old server to your phone and deletes your old account. If it asks you to sign in, use the same Apple or Google account you used before. If you chose "Start fresh" by mistake, or the restore failed, email us and we will send you your data.
How do I delete my data?
Everything lives on your device, so deleting the app deletes all of it. If you used version 1.0 and never opened version 2.0, your old account is deleted when the server shuts down. Email us if you want it removed sooner.
